God’s love can be hardest to receive in the places we need it most.

No Labor to Love is a Christian memoir for anyone who has believed in God’s love but struggled to feel held by it in fear, weakness, grief, or uncertainty.

When my daughter was born fourteen weeks early, weighing barely more than a pound, I entered a world of monitors, alarms, oxygen, and prayers too heavy for words. Over 131 days in the NICU, God began to redefine everything I thought I knew about His love.

The tension

Maybe you know the tension.

You believe God is loving. But when life becomes fragile, you may still feel the pressure to be strong enough, calm enough, spiritual enough, or certain enough to make it through.

When God’s love stays theoretical, fear often teaches us how to survive. We reach for control. We perform strength. We keep praying, keep showing up, keep doing what has to be done — but underneath it all, we are not always sure we are being held.

The story

I wrote this from that place.

Not as someone who had perfect faith in crisis, but as a father who was afraid, exhausted, and slowly being met by God in the middle of it.

No Labor to Love is not a book about having all the right answers when life falls apart. It is an invitation to rediscover the love of God before the outcome is clear, before fear is gone, and before you feel strong enough to explain what He is doing.

God’s love was already in the room.

Before the fear was gone. Before the outcome was clear. Before I had the strength to understand what He was doing.
